Terms and Privacy Notice
Last updated: 21 June 2026
This notice explains the terms that apply when you use Spotta and how Spotta Entertainment Limited collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the Spotta website and mobile application.
It combines our Privacy Notice, Terms of Service, Acceptable Use rules and mobile app licence terms. It is written for a UK-based service and is intended to address UK GDPR, EU GDPR and consumer transparency expectations. It should still be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser before publication.
Who we are
Spotta Entertainment Limited is responsible for Spotta. Company number: to be confirmed. Registered office: to be confirmed. ICO registration number: to be confirmed.
For general questions contact hello@spotta.co. For privacy questions or rights requests contact privacy@spotta.co.
What Spotta is
Spotta is a discovery service for events, pop-ups, venues and local experiences. We show information on maps, lists and related interfaces so people can find plans nearby.
Spotta is not a ticketing, payment, booking, venue-management or event-organising platform. If you buy tickets, book, or request more information, you may be taken to a third-party organiser, venue or ticketing provider. That transaction is between you and that third party.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use Spotta. By using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or over and able to enter into a legally binding agreement.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Please tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
Event information
We work to keep event information accurate and up to date, but event details are often supplied by third parties and may change. Dates, times, prices, availability, line-ups and venue details should always be checked with the organiser or ticketing provider before making plans or payments.
Labels such as “Spotta Selected” reflect editorial curation only. They are not guarantees of quality, safety, accuracy or availability.
Personal data we collect
- Information you give us, such as your name, email address, waitlist details, account details, event submissions and messages to us.
- Location data, if you give permission, so we can show relevant events nearby. You can disable location access in your device settings.
- Device and technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, identifiers and approximate location inferred from IP address.
- Usage data such as events viewed, taps, saves, searches, filters, sessions and notifications opened.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Notice.
How we use personal data
- To provide and operate Spotta, including event discovery, maps, accounts and waitlist registration.
- To personalise the service and recommend events or venues that may be relevant to you.
- To send service messages, marketing emails and push notifications where permitted and where you have opted in where required.
- To process and display event submissions, respond to support requests, analyse performance, fix problems and improve Spotta.
- To measure marketing effectiveness, protect the service, prevent misuse and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests and legal obligation as appropriate.
Consent applies to optional location access, push notifications, marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time. Contract applies where processing is needed to provide requested account or service features. Legitimate interests apply to operating, improving, securing and promoting Spotta where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Legal obligation applies where the law requires processing.
Sharing personal data
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers who help us run Spotta, such as hosting, analytics, email, support and security providers. We may also use analytics and advertising partners, including tools such as Mixpanel, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel where enabled and consented to where required.
We may disclose information where required by law, regulator, court order, safety need, fraud prevention need, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
International transfers
Some providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice. Account and waitlist information is kept while your account or registration is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data may be aggregated or pseudonymised. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
Your privacy rights
To exercise rights, contact privacy@spotta.co. We aim to respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, although we would appreciate the chance to help first.
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Portability: ask for certain data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests and object to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent: withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting previous lawful processing.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Spotta unlawfully, fraudulently, harmfully or in a way that interferes with the service.
- Do not attempt unauthorised access, introduce malware, attack the service, scrape data, use abusive automation, reverse engineer the service except as permitted by law, or commercially exploit the service without permission.
- Do not submit content that is false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, violent, infringing, impersonating someone, or unauthorised advertising.
User submissions
If you submit event information or other content, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it is accurate and lawful. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish and display that content to operate and promote Spotta. We may review, edit or remove submitted content at our discretion.
Intellectual property and app licence
Spotta, our branding, design, text, graphics, software and related materials are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the service without permission.
For the Spotta mobile application, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the app on a device you own or control for personal, non-commercial use. You must comply with applicable app store terms. Apple, Google and other app stores are not responsible for supporting the app.
Disclaimers and liability
Spotta is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that event information will always be complete, current or accurate.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, event cancellations, third-party transactions, or reliance on event information. Our total aggregate liability relating to the service is limited to £100. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Suspension, changes and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if we reasonably believe your use may harm Spotta, users or third parties. You may stop using Spotta or delete your account at any time.
We may update the service and these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
